Cenzorship? Today I've got banned from an AF Telegram group

Hi AlgoFam,

I have been banned from Telegram group “Algorand Foundation Announcements”.
Also, now I am unable to read the comments in group “Algorand Foundation Announcements (Official)”

Chain of events:
Today, two hours ago I posted two links from this forum into the Telegram group called “Algorand Foundation Announcements”. This group is for discussion, not only announcements.

My forum threads were:
What the King Safety paper should include
Some questions regarding economic sustainability of Algorand

After posting these links, I was deleted from that group within minutes. Not only banned – the group disappeared for me like I never was there. Also now I cannot read comments in the other group “Algorand Foundation Announcements (Official)”. I only see the announcements, not the comments.

I wrote to an admin called Millie. My message: “I have been removed from ‘Algorand Foundation Announcements’. This is an anti-democratic move. Please explain the reason, and put me back into this group. Thank you!” I haven’t got any answer yet.

My questions to AF employees, and especially to @SilentRhetoric whom I happen to know personally:

  • Which specific rule did I break?
  • Why was I banned without any warning?
  • Why I cannot read comments even in the official group?
  • Who is responsible for Telegram moderation and how can a normal community member appeal a ban?

I ask for a public or private answer. Silence will be understood as: “We do not want to explain.”
Yours truly,
a long time Algo supporter,

I don’t admin the TG channels, but I’ll relay this to the folks who do to see what happened.
