# When should I restake my Algorand to maximize my Algo earned?

I use Exodus wallet to stake my Algo. When should I restake my Algorand to maximize my returns? I read somewhere that when the value that is gained from staking is double the restaking fee is the best time to restake my Algo. Is this true?

I guess that by “restake” you mean sending a zero-Algo transaction to compound participation rewards.

Note that participation rewards are now discontinued.
