ASA Stats Profit and Loss: see what you made on any Algorand address

People open a portfolio tracker to find out whether they are up or down, and by how much. The new ASA Stats Profit and Loss widget answers that for any Algorand address, or a bundle of up to twenty addresses.

For every asset, it works out what you paid, what you sold for, what you still hold, and what it is worth now. It keeps realized and unrealized profit, income, and fees apart.

Adding liquidity or depositing into a farm is not a sale, so the cost basis moves with your tokens into the position and comes back with them. Rewards, airdrops and interest count as income. A transfer between your own addresses changes nothing.

It flags every figure it is unsure about, such as an asset sold for more than the history shows, a deposit with no known cost, a holding with no price. Each flag shows its effect on the totals and links to the asset.

It is free to try. Sign in, connect your address with a 0 ALGO signature, and open the P&L button on your address page. This is not tax advice.

Tell us where a number looks wrong. A transaction ID is all we need.

Nice addition. “Am I up or down?” is a question a lot of people have, and keeping income and fees separate should make the numbers easier to trust.

Two quick questions from a support angle: is the 0 ALGO signature only a sign-in check, with nothing sent or approved beyond that? People are often (rightly) cautious about signing anything. And can someone view the P&L for an address without connecting a wallet, if they only want to look?

Tnx for the comment and good questions!

Two quick questions from a support angle: is the 0 ALGO signature only a sign-in check, with nothing sent or approved beyond that? People are often (rightly) cautious about signing anything.

Yes, it’s a sign-in check. Your wallet signs a payment of 0 ALGO from your address to itself, with a unique code in the note that our server prepared. We verify the signature, and that’s all. The transaction is never sent to the network.

If your wallet cannot connect, there is our old manual alternative we used before the wallet connecting was developed. That does send a real 0 ALGO transaction, so it’s being recorded onchain.

And can someone view the P&L for an address without connecting a wallet, if they only want to look?

Anonymous access to the P&L user widget is not available.

You need an account. You can sign in with a username and password or a social account, and an email address is optional. Without a subscription, you can open the P&L for one address, and that address has to be linked to your account, which is the signature step. Therefore, you’d need to connect your wallet.

Intro and above can open any address without linking it.

We’ve done a great amount of work lately to optimize the speed of all of our services. An average address’ processing on the website is now almost close to 25% time spent what used to be until two months ago. Historic processing (what P&L widget uses) is probably close to 20% (5 times faster). Nevertheless, our resources are limited, and the historic onchain processing is still a heavy-duty process, so an anonymous malicious user could have blocked the whole functionality if we had set no restrictions.
