Layer-2 Privacy via BLS12-381 (Pairing-Friendly Elliptic Curve)

What’s going on with BLS12-381? We need this for zkChannels to bring privacy (and interoperability) into Algorand on layer-2! France central bank only wants to mess with coins that have privacy otherwise their operations would be a national security threat of economic espionage. I bet all central banks agree.

BLS12-381 doesn’t have high 2-adicity, which is desirable for for SNARK proofs to be efficiently computable.
Better candidate could be BLS12-377.

That’s cool but there is already a standard going on called zkChannels. Why reinvent the wheel?
