xGov v2.0.0 is now on mainnet

xGov v2.0.0 release is now on mainnet, and proposals are now unpaused.

Here are the main changes:

  • The minimum cap has been raised to 5 K Algo.

  • The maximum cap has been raised to 300 K Algo.

  • Voting sessions are now set to two weeks for all proposal sizes.

  • The xGov quorum is now on a sliding scale, which means the number of votes a proposal requires depends on the amount requested. This replaced the 30-50-70% classification for small, medium, and large, respectively. The minimum was raised to 40%, so the sliding scale now ranges from 40% to 70%.

This change also introduced the ability to update these parameters in the future without having to pause proposals. We will be required to pause the whole engine for major upgrades only.

The team is working to open-source the front-end before the end of the year, so we can start accepting contributions next year.

Both xGov Beta Architecture documentation and the User Guides on this forum will be updated in the next few days to reflect these changes

Will this have notifications for the non-voters?

Notification is on the backlog. So, not automatically. We will ping you to send them out, once the voting starts
