Developing a blockchain-integrated authentication framework on Algorand to securely link physical assets with verifiable digital identities

Hello Algorand Community

C. Valentine & Company, with its emerging blockchain & security division Atlas & Valentine, is developing an infrastructure that connects real-world assets to verifiable digital identities using Algorand’s protocol. Our goal is to pioneer practical applications of distributed-ledger authentication that strengthen transparency, traceability, and trust.

We welcome constructive dialogue, technical collaboration, and governance feedback as we advance the proof-of-concept phase of this proposal.

In the current xGov grant process, only “Retroactive” grants, as described in the documentation, are eligible.
Therefore, under the current system, “Proactive” grant applications—where one applies for Z in order to execute X—are not covered.

Regarding the grant amount, there is a parameter set for the Maximum Requested Amount Large, which defines the highest amount that can be requested. The current parameter is set at 200,000 ALGO, and it cannot support the $275,000 mentioned.

Follow-Up Regarding XGov Grant Eligibility and Parameters

Hello apner_nft

Thank you for taking the time to clarify the current parameters of the XGov grant process. I understand now that the program presently supports retroactive funding only, and that the maximum request threshold is 200,000 ALGO under the existing system.

My project was initially framed as a proactive proposal aimed at developing and deploying new infrastructure aligned with Algorand’s broader ecosystem goals. Given your clarification, I’d like to ask whether there are any upcoming proposal windows, pilot phases, or parallel programs that may accommodate proactive or forward-execution projects in the near future.

If not, I’m open to adjusting my submission to a retroactive framework—showcasing demonstrable milestones and outcomes—should that help it qualify under the current XGov model.

Thank you again for your guidance and for supporting community participation in Algorand’s development. I look forward to your insight on how best to align my proposal with the current or future grant structures.

Best regards,

Not the person previously replying to you but the only other route I’m aware of for funding is through Algorand Ventures, but they’re accelerators so I’m not sure what quantifies as early-stage (built + beta vs theoretical and/or partially built) or if that fancies you.

Thank you for your reply.
I am not a staff member of the Algorand Foundation myself, so regarding programs other than xGov, I only know what the community is aware of. As far as I know, the only programs currently offering proactive funding are the Accelerator program mentioned by Atsoc1993, or occasionally held hackathons that focus on specific fields or regions.

Regarding the xGov program, expanding to proactive-type grants is included as a milestone for the future, but I have not been informed whether this will happen next year, the year after, or further down the line.
