[xGov-3262647286] - Algocraft IDE - The Online Playground for Algorand Smart Contracts

Hi all,

Hereby submitting my Algocraft proposal for discussion.

About

Algocraft is an AI-powered online playground that lets developers and creators build, test, and showcase Algorand smart contracts directly from their browser.

With AI contract generation, visual workflows, and a one-prompt DApp builder, Algocraft bridges the gap between technical and non-technical creators — making Algorand development as simple as typing a prompt or dragging a node.

How It Works

  1. Playground

Developers open Algocraft IDE to write or import TEALScript, PuyaTS , or PuyaPY code.
They can compile, simulate, and deploy to TestNet — all from the browser.

  1. Algo AI

Using natural-language prompts, users can generate complete smart contracts.
Example: “Create a lending DApp with deposit and borrow functions.”
The AI writes the contract, explains it, and can even generate a matching frontend boilerplate.

  1. AlgoFlow

A drag-and-drop visual builder that allows users to design workflow-based DApps — connecting logic nodes (like payments, app calls, and conditionals) into fully deployable processes.

  1. vibe.algocraft.fun

The “fun” layer — a one-prompt DApp creation portal where anyone can generate and deploy mini Algorand apps instantly, then open them in Algocraft IDE for editing or publishing.

Value to the Algorand Ecosystem

  1. Low-Friction Onboarding

Algocraft removes the technical barriers to building on Algorand.
New developers can write or generate contracts directly in the browser without SDK setup.

  1. Developer Discovery

A public contract showcase highlights trending or forked projects, creating visibility for builders and reusable templates for the ecosystem.

  1. AI-Powered Tooling

By integrating natural-language contract generation, Algocraft positions Algorand as the first blockchain ecosystem with AI-native contract development tools.

  1. Educational Resource

Open-sourced examples act as learning templates for Puya Py and TEALScript, accelerating onboarding for students, hackathon participants, and new community builders.

Rationale for Funding Amount

This proposal requests funding to support:

  1. Deployment and hosting of Algocraft IDE, backend, and AI infrastructure.
(Including sandbox nodes, IPFS storage, and AI model inference hosting.)

  2. Open-sourcing the full Algocraft codebase to Electric Capital, including:

    • AI prompt-to-contract module
    • Visual workflow builder (AlgoFlow)
    • Public playground and showcase portal
  3. Continuous maintenance and integration:

    • Bug fixes, SDK updates, TestNet/MainNet support
    • Algokit, Pera Wallet, and TEALScript integration
    • Documentation and community tutorials

Nivesh Gajengi (Founder, Algocraft)

Building on Algorand since 2024, I’ve developed multiple on-chain systems — from lending platforms and AI agents to educational tools for developers.

I’m also the creator of AlgoQuest, an on-chain quest and leaderboard system that won the AlgoBharat HackSeries for its innovative use of Algorand smart contracts in gamified learning.

Algocraft builds on that same vision — making blockchain creation and interaction accessible, fun, and intelligent. It combines my work on TEALScript, PuyaPy, PuyaTS, and AI automation into a unified developer experience.

Currently, I’m focused on expanding Algocraft’s AI and visual tooling layers to onboard new builders and position Algorand as the most developer-friendly ecosystem.

Focus Areas: Smart Contracts • TEALScript • AI-Driven Code Generation • Developer Tooling

Algocraft was online for a while. It was great. I tried AlgoCraft , it doesn’t work any more.

yeah!! there was a proposal Like this for TealCraft before which got Funds but the project wasnt built, we are still under development building this State of the Art solution on algorand,

As the Compiling of Puya-Py can be done using pyodide, We Support this

TealScripts contracts Compiling can be done online using WebContainers.. This works in our platform

Puya-Ts contracts: We are under development for building an API for smart contracts compiling online…

Pyteal( Deprecated ) we arent supporting this contracts…
Beaker ( Deprecated ) …

The landing site you linked is kind of a mess. There are broken links, placeholder images, and broken CSS. It’s fine to use AI to help you generate content, but you should probably review it and fix issues before publishing.

I don’t want to come off as being too harsh. Overall I think the web IDE is a great idea, but it too is rough around the edges. My advice would be to refine the project, and gain some adoption before seeking retroactive funding.

Thank you so much for the honest feedback, you are absolutely right , the landing page and web IDE are still in their early stages and there are definitely rough edges.

Noted!, i am actively working on this. I applied for this proposal so that I can fund the deployment of the Docker containers for compiling contracts and also cover the hosting and infrastructure costs needed to stabilize the platform. your feedback helps a lot in prioritizing what to improve next
